Everyone loves a good neutral eyeshadow palette and it is no doubt for that very reason that they’re cropping up everywhere, now more so than ever. While I really do adore the truly beautiful and droolworthy offerings from the high end brands (MAC, Urban Decay, Bobbi Brown, Charlotte Tilbury, will I ever have money?), finding a good set of neutral, drugstore eyeshadows does feel like a mini victory. With that in mind, I bring to you the WET N WILD COLOR ICON COLLECTION EYESHADOW TRIO IN WALKING ON EGGSHELLS (why say just one word when you can say them all?). I know these eyeshadow trios from Wet N Wild have been kicking around for a while but as they aren’t sold here in the UK, they’re a fairly new addition to my collection and one that I am loving.
WET N WILD COLOR ICON COLLECTION EYESHADOW TRIO IN WALKING ON EGGSHELLS
Wet N Wild Packaging
The packaging is very basic (probably not one to be lusted over) but it is reasonably sturdy and compact making it ideal for popping in your bag. The shadows are accompanied by the tiniest applicator and brush that I think I’ve ever seen and both were swiftly thrown in favour of my usual tools.. but again, these could be fine particularly for taking on your travels if space is of the essence.
Wet N Wild Shades
The shadows, I find, work together fairly well to create a natural everyday look when used as suggested (and one that I have been sporting during my working week). Highly pigmented and with a texture I would liken to that of the Urban Decay shadows (ie buttery, easy to blend and resistant to creasing).
The eyelid colour is the perfect all-over shade, a pretty shimmery peachy-pinky-nude. Then we have a satin finish light brown which blends out beautifully in the crease area when applied with a light hand. And finally, a browbone shade in the form of a gorgeous and shimmering champagne colour that I imagine could work well to highlight other areas of the face also (hello multi-purpose).
Oh and as if those swatches aren’t encouraging enough, you may notice these shadows are also dupes of the well loved MAC shadows that are Naked Lunch, Cork and Shroom and although Wet N Wild isn’t available to buy in the UK, via the marvel that is Ebay these can be purchased for around just a fiver each! And yes, I may have since persuaded myself in to buying the Silent Treatment and Sweet as Candy trios as well (it didn’t take much)..
