In an effort to bring some kind of order to my blog, I’ve decided to introduce one or two regular features for your perusal – the first of which being a ‘weekly favourites’ type post (and, life permitting, this should be making a regular appearance around here).
LA ROCHE POSAY HYDRAPHASE INTENSE MASQUE
The LA ROCHE POSAY HYDRAPHASE INTENSE MASQUE was something that I’d pushed to the back of a drawer for a while having used only once or twice, but on stumbling across it again a few or so weeks ago, I’m kicking myself for not finding love for it before now. Packed full of thermal spring water, Hyaluronic Acid fragments and no doubt other wonderful skin friends, it really does deliver on the hydration front. It’s gel-like texture feels not only incredibly soothing when applied to the skin but also very different to other masks of it’s type. It’s advised that you apply a generous layer to the face, leave for 10 minutes and then blot off any excess with a cotton pad to leave behind the most plump and glowing skin. During those 10 minutes you can quite literally see the mask melting in to the drier and more needy areas of your face and you just know that your skin is thanking you for it.
TARTE AMAZONIAN CLAY BLUSH IN EXPOSED
Next up, a blush that almost hasn’t left my face since I got my hands on it. The TARTE AMAZONIAN CLAY BLUSH IN EXPOSED provides such a universally flattering, natural (think pinky-tan) flush in just one sweep and truly compliments any makeup look all while remaining ‘barely there’. It applies beautifully matte, blends well and lasts all day. Dear Tarte, please hurry to the UK so that I can buy your everything.
BOURJOIS PARIS COLOR EDITION 24H EYESHADOWS
My constant search for makeup a new favourite daytime eyeshadow had led me to these cream to powder BOURJOIS PARIS COLOR EDITION 24H EYESHADOWS. They have good pigmentation and come in a lovely range of six very wearable shades (all metallic finishes but without being too much), the Petale De Glace being my most reached for of late – a gorgeous if slightly hard to describe.. shimmery browny pink? This colour is perfect for wearing both on it’s own with a slick of mascara for an everyday eye or indeed with a little something else in the crease for more definition (try the brown plum shade that is Prune Nocturne). The texture is quite firm in the pot so I like to soften between my fingertips before applying all over the lid and then blending out with a brush. These last so well and without any creasing, although I doubt I’ll need to make use of the supposed 24 hour lasting power any time soon..
I’ve never been a fan of those lip balms that come in (albeit very cute) pots and find the stick form to be much more convenient and hygienic. The beautiful KORRES MANDARIN LIP BUTTER STICKS are so moisturising on the lips and offer a wash of pretty and fuss-free colour. My current most loved being the shade Purple which offers a subtle yet very hydrating plum lip that I frankly can’t get enough of.
